Terms of Service

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Draft only — not legal advice. This is written to accurately describe how the app actually works, but it hasn't been reviewed by an attorney. Have one look it over before this goes live, especially the payment and liability sections.

Acceptance of terms

By using Deal Breaker ("the App", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

What the App does

Deal Breaker lets you build a short compatibility questionnaire and share it with another person via a one-time code. It computes and returns a general compatibility score and a deal-breaker check based on their anonymous answers.

Who can use it

You must be at least 17 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to use the App. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your content

You're responsible for the questions, answer options, and any other text you write into the App. Don't use it to write anything illegal, harassing, threatening, or intended to harm someone else. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend access for violations of this.

No professional advice

Deal Breaker is a communication tool, not professional relationship, legal, medical, or financial advice. Compatibility scores and deal-breaker results are based only on the questions you write and the answers you receive — they're not a substitute for real conversation or professional guidance.

No accounts, and what that means

The App doesn't use accounts or logins. Premium status is tied to your device's browser storage. Clearing your browser's site data, switching browsers, or switching devices will remove your premium access, and there's currently no way to restore it automatically.

Payments

The one-time upgrade is processed by Stripe. Purchases are generally final and non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion. Contact dealbreakerapp@proton.me if something went wrong with a purchase.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its results will meet your expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deal Breaker and its owners aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions you make based on its results.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App for anyone who violates these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
